Yuzawa has resorts that are open throughout the year so customers can enjoy nature in the four seasons.

Surrounded by the Japanese Alps, the town is famous for its beautiful sceneries, popular ski resorts and hot springs. "Snow Country," a novel by Yasunari Kawabata who won the 1968 Nobel Prize in Literature, is set in this town.

  • Pottery Studio "Asahigama"

    Create your own design on the potter's wheel and fire it in the furnace. In this pottery studio, everyone can experience the joy of creating pottery, from small children and beginners who have never touched clay to aficionados who love to make pottery.

  • Workshop "Daigenta"

    Enjoy the experience of making soba, bamboo dumplings and other food by hand. With the guidance of a skilled instructor, families with children can also take part in the activities.

  • Dragondola

    The longest gondola lift (single-line, automatic circulating type) in Japan measuring 5,481 m. It takes 25 minutes to travel between Naeba and Tashiro on the lift.

  • Tashiro Ropeway

    A large ropeway with a capacity of 91 where you can enjoy a beautiful panorama from a height of 230 m above grounds.

  • Naeba Independence Boardwalk

    Children and people on wheelchairs can enjoy strolling in the nature on Japan's longest wooden boardwalk with a width of 2 m and a total length of 1.7 km.
    You can purchase a wooden plate at 1,000 yen a piece to write a message and contribute to the creation of the boardwalk.

  • Forest Adventure Yuzawa Nakazato

    Forest Adventure Yuzawa Nakazato is a treetop park that uses natural trees and is in symbiosis with nature. Customers can travel from tree to tree via the treetop courses and enjoy a new experience in the forest.

  • Yuzawa Fishing Park

    A fishing park where you can enjoy mountain stream fishing and catch char, landlocked salmon, rainbow trout and so on easily. The fish you catch is then char-grilled on the spot.
    You can also try catching a fish by hand and enjoy BBQ at the park.

  • Daigenta Canyon Camping Ground

    A rustic camping ground in the forest where you can enjoy BBQ or pizza grilling.
    The Italian restaurant next to it sells fresh bread and Daigenta soft ice cream, which are popular with visitors.

  • Yuzawa Kogen Highland Park

    Enjoy the 706-meter-long summer bobsleigh, drive a Go-Kart while taking in the fresh air of the plains, try the stimulating and thrilling zipline and do other fun activities.
    You can also find rare plants such as alpine flora.

  • Yuzawa Kogen Ropeway

    With the world's largest capacity at 166, the 1,300-meter-long ropeway takes you to the "Alp no Sato" botanical park in seven minutes.

  • "Kasumi no Ma" Literature Reference Room

    The "Kasumi no Ma" reference room was where Yasunari Kawabata wrote "Snow Country."

  • Yuzawa Folklore History Museum "Yukiguni-kan (Snow Country Museum)"

    View exhibits to learn more about how people lived in the snowy region of Yuzawa, and a Japanese painting gallery dedicated to "Snow Country" by Yasunari Kawabata.

  • Ponshu-kan

    A museum dedicated to Niigata's local sake. Taste the leading brands of sake in the prefecture and soak in a bath filled with sake.
    The museum also offers a wide variety of local products, so it is great for buying souvenirs.

  • Ganki-dori (Covered Street Way)

    Great for buying souvenirs. A small alley in Echigo Yuzawa Station that sells Yuzawa specialties.

  • Yukiguni Agri Park "Yuzawa Strawberry Farm"

    Pick and enjoy sweet and delicious "Echigo Hime" strawberries, a variety that is found only in Niigata Prefecture.
